Lesson 1 of 3:

Selecting Sources of Information & Understanding Plagiarism

  • Today you will begin the first of three library and research skills tutorials and assignments.
  • The first part of today's assignment is a tutorial about selecting sources of information for research. (See Part 1 below). There is a quiz at the end of this tutorial.
  • The second part is a tutorial about understanding and avoiding plagiarism. There is also a quiz for this tutoria. (See Part 2 below)

Part 1: "Selecting Sources of Information" tutorial.

  • Click the link below to connect to and complete the tutorial about selecting sources of information for research:
  • At the end of the tutorial, take the quiz.
  • After you finish the quiz, follow the instructions on the certificate page to print out your "proof of completion".
  • Get this page stamped at the desk and keep it with your Writing Center course work.
  • Then close the tutorial window to return to this page to work on Part 2 below.

Part 2: Understanding Plagiarism.

  • Connect to and complete the tutorial about understanding and avoiding plagiarism:
  • Click on NEXT to start the tutorial. The tutorial will open in a new window.
  • When you have completed the tutorial, close the tutorial window to return to this page and click the link below to access the quiz:
  • After you finish the quiz, follow the instructions on the certificate page to print out your "proof of completion".
  • Get this page stamped at the desk and keep it with your Writing Center course work.
  • Then close the tutorial window to return to this page. This completes the assignment for this session.
