Because of the aging population and expanding health and dental care job market, there is a national and local shortage of health and dental-care providers. Health Science professionals are in high demand and job opportunities are abundant.

Health Science careers offer a high degree of flexibility - students can choose from a variety of employment settings resulting from completion of any of the ten programs. The work hours, scheduling and variety are favorable for students choosing to study Health Sciences.

Health Science careers are also available in many settings: from the country to the city; from hospitals to private clinics. The School of Health Sciences offers certificates and degrees leading to dynamic and rewarding health careers in many program areas: Medical Assisting, Dental Assisting, Dental Laboratory Technology (to be renamed Restorative Dental Technology Fall of 2017), Dental Hygiene, Emergency Medical Technician, Radiologic Technology, Anesthesia Technology, Registered Nursing, Licensed Vocational Nursing, Certified Nursing Assistant, and Gerontology.

PCC has an excellent reputation in our community for graduating professional and competent healthcare and oral health care professionals. Our full- and part-time faculty and staff are committed to student success. Tutoring programs and campus lab activities support our student success efforts. Professional student organizations and community service projects also help students develop their leadership skills, forge new friendships, and build career networks.

Students who complete degrees and certificates in the Division of Health Sciences are students who are committed to life-long learning, often continuing their education at a university. We are proud of the nationally accredited, recognized programs and faculty here at Pasadena City College. Please join us as we work to improve the health and dental care of our community.
