News: PCC Extension Offers Summer Engineering Program for Young Students

Pasadena City College Extension has partnered with education company All About Learning to provide students grades 1-8 with a series of one-week classes designed to nurture careers in science, technology, engineering and math. The classes will be held at PCC, with the first beginning July 8.

Using Lego kits, students will build and modify machines and vehicles while developing critical thinking and problem solving skills. The classes will teach basic engineering principles, gearing and gear ratios, electric motors and energy, and motion and aerodynamics. The program is designed for both boys and girls.
Each week, a new course will begin:

July 8: Junior Engineering 1, grades 1-3
July 15: Junior Vehicle Engineering, grades 1-3
July 22: Collision Cars, grades 4-8
July 29: Vehicle Engineering, grades 4-8
