News: Study Spring 2013 Abroad in Oxford, England


Pasadena City College will be providing students and the community with an opportunity to study abroad in Oxford, England this spring semester, from Jan. 7 to April 5. “Pre-Oxford Sessions” will be held on campus from Jan. 7-15.

Oxford, a world-renowned center of learning since the 13th century, is home to more than 40 colleges and is filled with a rich and exciting cultural, artistic, and intellectual history. Professors Judith Branzburg of the English Division and Whitney Rydbeck of the Performing and Communication Arts Division will be leading students on the program. Students can earn 12-15 transferable units in English, theatre arts, and speech. Class offerings include: English 25G: Mystery and Crime Fiction; English 49B: Film as Dramatic Literature; Theater Arts 1: Introduction to Theater; Speech 1: Fundamentals of Speech; and Speech 4: Oral Interpretation. All credits are CSU and UC transferable.

The cost of the program is $7,990, excluding airline taxes, fees and fuel surcharges. The program includes round-trip airfare and transfers, housing and meals in British homestays, cultural events in London and Oxford, and excursions to London, Stratford-upon-Avon, Houses of Parliament, and Globe and National Theater tours.
