News: Pasadena City College Expands Access to Classes for Spring Semester
More than 23,000 students are expected to attend the first day of the spring semester at Pasadena City College on Jan. 7, marking an increase in class offerings and access. There will be 7,000 more seats available in class sections in the spring of 2013 over spring of 2012 thanks to PCC’s enrollment management efforts and the passage of Proposition 30 by California’s voters.
PCC has expanded its offerings last year and will offer 2,410 morning, afternoon, and evening sections. Student and Learning Services will host information tents across campus Jan. 7 through Jan. 10 with counselors available to assist students with questions.
The college established a three-term schedule with spring semester beginning on Jan. 7. The schedule establishes fall, spring, and summer terms that would give PCC faculty and staff more flexibility in offering classes students need to transfer or complete a degree or certificate. Hundreds of additional class sections will be made available in the summer and fall 2013 terms as well.
Spring Break will now be March 4 to 10, and final exams will be April 29 to May 5. Summer term begins May 13.
Classes are offered on the main PCC campus and at the Community Education Center, located at 3035 E. Foothill Blvd. Some classes have been filled, but there are many classes still available to current and prospective students. Go to http://www.pasadena.edu/classes/ to find open class sections.
Financial aid is still available for the spring semester, and students are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Board of Governors Fee Waiver (BOGFW) application for consideration.
