News: Tech Tuesday Update: Hats off to the classified staff! May 7, 2013

Over the last few weeks, the college staff has been emailing students information on how to get onto LancerPoint. Financial Aid students are now using LancerPoint in preparation for summer registration on May 23. As you can imagine, some of our students have needed some extra help. There is always a learning curve when implementing new technology and processes.

Our classified staff has really stepped-up and have been wonderful in helping our students. They have also been instrumental in assisting the Information Technology Services staff to fine-tune the system.

Classified staff has been working tirelessly over the last nine months getting trained and preparing the LancerPoint system for our summer go-live date (If you are wondering when this date is, click and check out the counter in the right column).

It only seems fitting that as we celebrate classified employees this week, I say “Hat’s off to our Classified Staff!”

Thank you all for your hard work and I hope you have a great Classified Day celebration!

As always, here are some quick stats that may only interest me:

Summer (not LancerPoint):

• 12,000 enrollments (seats) out of a potential14,350 (Great!)
• 8,000 students enrolled (Awesome!)

• LancerPoint Financial Aid emails sent: 7,500
• LancerPoint emails to potential summer students: 38,000
• LancerPoint summer applicants (also received an email): 9,600
• LancerPoint fall applicants (also received email): 8,700

Until next time,

Mark Gutierrez
