PCC Retirees Association
I feel honored and pleased to have been elected president of the PCC Retirees Association. I was privileged to spend 23 years as an employee at Pasadena City College. All my years of service were spent in the Fiscal Services Department, or as many of you remember, the Accounting Department. I spent many enjoyable hours assisting the staff with payroll and health benefit problems, the two areas that deeply affect staff and their families. I was also privileged to help many of you with your retirement decisions.
I support the good works that the association has done in building up our scholarship fund. Every year several students receive scholarships from our association to assist them in continuing their education. The 2013 recipients uplifting letters of gratitude were published in our October newsletter. Our newsletter, "Staying Connected", affords the opportunity for all retirees to let their friends and colleagues know what they are doing, and enjoy the experiences of others. Staying Connected also gives information on the happenings at the campus, and lists the upcoming planned events. The association events are planned in order for retirees to get together and enjoy the outing, and enjoy each others company.
PCC gave me the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. I have met many great people and retained many good friends. I will be looking forward to seeing all of you at our excursions or mixers.
