Transfer to CSU
Recommendations:
- Complete 60 CSU transferable units.
- Obtain a minimum grade point average of 2.0 if you are a resident or 2.4
if you are a non-resident. Please note: Some majors at the CSU are "impacted" and
require an even higher GPA. Please consult with a counselor for more information
about this topic or to obtain a listing of impacted majors.
- Complete and certify your general education requirements while attending
PCC. (This will ensure that you have completed the required 30 units of general
education courses listed above.) You can do this by following either the
CSU General Education pattern or IGETC. For more information regarding general
education and the certification process, please contact a counselor or university
representative.
- Complete lower division coursework in your major. Although completion of
course in your major is not required for admission unless your major is impacted,
it is highly recommended that you begin taking your lower dividion major
coursework while you are at PCC. Check out the Transfer

- Cal Poly San Luis Obispo is an impacted campus and consequently the admissions
process is HIGHLY competitive and different from the process at the other
CSU campuses.
- For further information on the transfer process to the California State
University, please make an appointment with a counselor in the Counseling
Office (L-104) and meet with a CSU representative in the Transfer Center.

- Attend a "Learn to Transfer" Orientation.
