Campus Emergency Communication

Under the direction of the EOC Director, the College Director of Public Relations shall activate the Joint Information Center (JIC) during emergency situations. The purpose of the JIC is to:

  • Provide emergency status updates to the media and community
  • Release lifesaving/health preservation instructions
  • Provide a spokesperson/unified voice for the college
  • Provide a central point for inquiries
  • Coordinate communication mediums (web, social media, phone)
  • Release clear, concise, and confirmed information
  • Coordinate with other on-scene information officers (Fire or Law Enforcement)
  • Record and archive emergency response of the college
