The Latine Graduation is a celebration that builds community and a sense of familia for PCC students, and strives to empower students to be the agents for social change in their lives, in their families and in their communities. Our goal is to provide models of success for future generations.

Thank you for your interest in celebrating the success of our Latine Graduates!

¡Gracias por tu interés en celebrar a nuestros graduados Latines!

Participation Requirements:

To participate in Latine Grad, students must meet one of the following criteria:

Complete an associate degree at PCC
Complete a certificate program at PCC
Transfer to a four-year university (with or without completing a degree or certificate)
Complete the PCC Adult High School Diploma or earn a High School Equivalency (GED)
Complete a non-credit program at PCC

*Important: During orientations, our team will take student headshots with a sarape sash. This photo will be featured at the ceremony for your family and friends to see and celebrate you! Students who attend hybrid or online will need to visit the PCC Transfer Center to have their photo taken. Selfies or photos not taken by our team will not be included in the ceremony.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I participate in both this graduation celebration and PCC commencement? What is the difference?

Yes, this graduation celebration is meant to be complimentary to the main PCC Commencement. Some students will participate in both or just one. It’s up to you!

How many tickets will each student receive? What do I wear? Where do we meet?

Tickets, attire, and general information will be discussed during the mandatory orientation.

Do I wear a cap and gown? If so, how will I receive it?

For this graduation celebration, we do not require students to wear a cap or gown. We will discuss the dress code in detail during the orientations.

Why is the graduation on May 29th when we have finals the following week?

We wanted this celebration to complement PCC's commencement. Being able to have it before the main commencement gives students the opportunity to wear the sarape stoles they receive to the larger commencement.

Is this graduation free?

Yes, it is free. We provide students with the Sarape sash, certificate of achievement, and dinner.

I will be completing my time at PCC Summer 2026, can I participate?

Yes

I will be completing my time at PCC Fall 2026, can I participate?

Unfortunately, students completing Fall 2026 and beyond will not be able to participate, but can participate in the Spring 2027 celebration.

I’m a student earning my adult high school diploma or GED through the PCC, am I allowed to participate?

Yes! Students who are earning their adult high school diploma or GED through the PCC are welcome to participate.

Can I be a student speaker?

If you would like to be considered for this special honor, please indicate this information on the graduation application. The committee is interested in a speech that will resonate with the entire audience - students, parents, and guests. The speech cannot be more than 3 minutes long.

When is the last day that I can submit the application to participate?

All students that are interested in participating must submit an application by May 8, 2026.
