A Message from the Director

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Pasadena City College Child Development Center’s web site. We hope this gives you a glimpse into what we are all about. As a Center, we are committed to establishing relationships that best meet the needs of the families and children. We are committed to providing high quality care for the Pasadena area and to serve child development students with a model site. This commitment has been established for well over twenty years.

As the Director, I feel strongly that personal and professional development are key to building a great team. I think it is the people that surround us and the qualities that everyone contributes that can make a vision come to life. I believe we are lifelong learners and that at every stage of our life we acquire different knowledge and experiences. It is the reflection and application of the acquired knowledge and experiences that gives us wisdom and expertise.

We pride ourselves on the respect that every child, parent, staff, college student and community member feels when they walk through our doors. We believe that we are in constant motion working together to provide a high quality early childhood program. As part of a higher learning institution, I feel we have a strong responsibility to maintain a learning environment that promotes best practices. Therefore, consistently reflecting and staying current with our educational philosophies allows us to uphold these values.

Our environment embraces the family and nurtures the child. The teachers are constantly working towards bettering themselves, their programs, and the school as a whole. We are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). We are also governed by the California State Department of Education Child Development Division.

I look forward to being able to support you through your journey as a parent and student.

Thank you,

Brenda Trejo
