The Mathematics Division has a threefold mission:

  • Rigorously educate students majoring in Science-Technology-Engineering-Mathematics (STEM) fields providing them the mathematical knowledge and skill necessary for tomorrow’s STEM careers

  • Provide a useful, well-rounded, versatile mathematical background for students pursuing a Liberal Arts degree with our Statistics & Liberal Arts Mathematics (SLAM) sequence

  • Build a mathematically literate population by providing courses for students at all levels.

A broad range of college-level mathematics courses are offered including statistics, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations.   There are also a variety of support courses offered to provide students with additional time to understand the ideas taught in class.  Courses are also offered during the shortened intersessions, and in a compressed schedule during full semesters, enabling students to complete two sequential math classes in a full-term semester.  Courses are offered in a variety of learning modalities including face-to-face, hybrid, and fully online courses offered with an in-person final exam.
