Start Your Career as an Anesthesia Technologist


The Anesthesia Technology Associate in Science (AS) degree program at PCC prepares you to begin a career as an integral member of the anesthesia patient care team. Upon successful completion of the program's required coursework, you will be eligible to take the ASATT Certification Examination to become a Certified Anesthesia Technologist.

    3 semesters (Summer Intersession, Fall Semester, and Spring Semester)

    • Associate in Science Degree in Anesthesia Technology
    • Certificate of Achievement
    • Eligible for the ASATT National Certification Exam.

Program Description

The Anesthesia Technology program prepares you to become a Certified Anesthesia Technologist. Emphasis is on fundamental and advanced clinical procedures to assist licensed anesthesia providers in the acquisition, preparation, and application of various types of equipment required for the delivery of anesthesia care. You will learn to:

  • Assist licensed anesthesia providers with the care of the patient in a variety of settings.

  • Provide support for surgical cases by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of patient equipment and anesthesia delivery systems before, during and after anesthesia care.

  • Perform maintenance on anesthesia equipment and anesthesia monitors.

  • Clean, sterilize, disinfect, stock, order and maintain anesthesia equipment and supplies.
