Deferrals
International students who cannot start their term because of visa or personal reasons can request a one-time deferral, or delay, of their admissions to PCC.
What is a deferral?
A deferral request is a delay of your admissions to the next open term. A student
may need a deferral if they are experiencing visa delays or other personal reasons.
Students who are approved for a deferral will not need to submit their PCC Application
or application fee again. Your PCC I-20 will also be re-issued with updated dates
to reflect your new admissions term.
Do I need to submit updated documents?
An Admissions Advisor will review your deferral request. If your supporting documents were issued more than 6 months of the time of our review, we will email you for updated documents to complete your deferral.
Who can apply for a deferral?
All international students who have not been deferred from a previous term and who have submitted or have been admitted to PCC can apply for a deferral.
How do I submit a deferral?
- Return to your PCC International Application
- From the main menu, click on the application you wish to defer
- From the top right-hand corner of your application, click on “Request Deferral”
- Complete your request. An Admissions Advisor will review your request within 7 work days.
How long does it take to process my deferral request?
Deferral requests are reviewed within 7 to 10 work days.
If your deferral request is approved, you will receive your admissions email and updated
PCC I-20 within that time.
If we need updated documents, an Admissions Advisor will contact you by email.
How long does it take to receive my new PCC I-20?
After your deferral request is approved and you receive your new admissions email, you will receive your deferred PCC I-20 within 48 hours. You can return to your PCC International Application to download your updated I-20.
I have more questions. Who can I talk to?
